Elvis Aaron Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi in 1935. There are a lot of people who don't know this but Elvis was born a twin but the twin did not survive. Elvis's brother was names Jesse Garon Presley. Elvis's parents did not have a lot of money, his father Vernon was a truck driver and his beloved mother Gladys was a sewing machine operator. They all lived in a two-room home in Mississippi.
Elvis was always into music, when he was younger he bought himself his very first guitar. Elvis worked jobs after school to help out his family; he worked regular jobs as well as working trying to get someone to hear his music. As a birthday present Elvis recorded a song for his mother in the local recording studio. Elvis was a shy person and anyone who knew them then were shocked when he came to be known as The King.
When Elvis recorded his mother?s record he liked it so much that he went back to record another and the recording people noticed he had a special sound. They pitched his recording to radio stations and soon he was getting play. Elvis became an instant sensation. In the height of his popularity Elvis was shipped over seas with the Army. The Elvis train as they called it, has thousands of his fans crowding the train as he left for the Army. While stationed over seas he met his future wife Priscilla who was only 14 when he met her.
They fell in love and when she was 18 she married Elvis in Las Vegas, almost a year later their one and only child Lisa Marie was born.
