Elvis at the time was a successful recording artist and seasoned pro at performing. Elvis always performed at sold out shoes. He was the major headliner in Las Vegas. No matter where he played he sold out. But Elvis's manager at the time, Colonel Tom Parker though he should get into the movies. Elvis loved that idea and said he would be interested. But on the condition that he did not want to sing in any of his movies. But anyone who has seen Elvis's movies know that the majority of then movies he does sing in.
Elvis' first movie was Love Me Tender; if you look hard enough you will see his mother Gladys in the audience of one of the scenes. His mother never saw the ending of that movie because he dies in the end. Most of the movies Elvis did were lighthearted beach style movies where he sang and got the girl at the end of every movie. Elvis had some number one hits with movie title songs.
Love me Tender, Viva Las Vegas and Can't help falling in love were number one hits as well as being featured in his movies. Elvis had a great stage presence and women loved his movies. The majority of his fan base was women, it is very easy to see why that is. He was young and in his prime. He was very talented who left the earth too young.
